how to get kids to meditate

Start them young. ⠀
.⠀
We got to visit Cole’s future school yesterday and the visit was bittersweet. Loved connecting to our someday community but also recognizing how quickly he’ll be grown. ⠀
.⠀
And it hurts my heart to see school aged children suffering. Our kids are meant to play and be carefree and be kids. But we are told to put them in more activities, to get the best grades, to be smart and kind and humble and curious and disciplined and responsible. ⠀
.⠀
Under pressure. ⠀
.⠀
Our kids are under so much pressure. And it’s not necessarily a parent’s fault, it’s our society, the system, the way we create reward systems and structure. ⠀
.⠀
But we can help the kids. Because when nothing may change externally for them, they can find the strength to be resilient in times of challenge, to reflect in times of hurt, to regulate in times of frustration. ⠀
.⠀
Mindfulness and meditation for kids works. ⠀
.⠀
💛 start your kid, K-4th grader in our drop-in class. Every Tuesday, 5:15-5:45pm. Where we teach them ways to cope, persevere and be compassionate toward their own growing. ⠀
.⠀
Because they are worth it. And so much more. ⠀
