Meet Benji, Certified Therapy Dog
Benji is a certified therapy dog with a gentle spirit, a calm presence, and a genuine love for people. After finding his way into Jordyn Kahler's life, they began training together in 2021 with Loyal K-9 and Bright & Beautiful Therapy Dogs. Benji became a certified therapy dog in May 2023 and is also a member of Michigan's Fur Angels Chapter, where he brings comfort and connection to hospitals, schools, nursing homes, and other community settings.
What to Expect
If you choose to have Benji join your session, he'll likely greet you with a wagging tail before walking with you to Jordyn's office. During your appointment, he may relax on his rug, curl up nearby, quietly check in for a few pets, or happily play with one of his favorite toys. Some clients enjoy petting him throughout the session, while others simply appreciate his calming presence. However you choose to interact with Benji, he'll happily meet you where you are.
Walk & Talk Sessions
Weather permitting, clients can request a Walk & Talk therapy session with Jordyn and Benji. These outdoor sessions combine movement, fresh air, meaningful conversation, and the comforting companionship of a therapy dog.
Benji's Role in Therapy
For many people, Benji has a special way of making the therapy room feel a little more relaxed. His quiet presence can help ease anxiety, create a sense of comfort and safety, and bring moments of joy when they're needed most. Research shows that animal-assisted therapy can support emotional well-being by reducing stress and fostering connection.
Having Benji in your session is always optional. Whether you'd like him to join every session, occasionally, or not at all, your comfort and preferences will always guide the experience.
