Let’s start this relationship with a little less stress. Here are answers to some of your questions and what to expect when working with us.

We are a “shoes off” practice. Drop your shoes, worries, stuff, and just breathe when you are in our space.

We have a group space in Northville that can accommodate groups, special programs, integrative workshops, and small meetings. We are excited to bring Reset group experiences back to our communities. 

 
 

How can you help me and how long will it take to feel better?

Many clients come in with specific goals and we work together at a comfortable pace to achieve those goals. It is also completely valid for a client’s counseling intentions to be more vague and discover their goals over time. Counseling can assist with problem solving current challenges, learning new tools to understand and manage emotions and negative thinking, improve communication and relationship skills, increase self-esteem and confidence, overcome chronic pain and sleeplessness, and increase self-awareness and acceptance.

Ultimately, counseling will be what you need it to be and we will work together to find the most effective use of therapy for you. We recommend working together weekly initially for at least 8 weeks, as it helps develop rapport and get your counseling into a flow. The motivation you bring to the work and the relationship with your therapist are crucial factors when considering how therapy works and how it can make a difference in your life. Clients come to look forward to the weekly sessions. After a time, every two weeks or once a month for maintenance or accountability towards your goals may work well. We will give you feedback on an on-going basis and work together on a plan that makes sense for you. Our hope for you is to be able to use all the skills you have discovered and feel confident to live life on your terms.

How do I get started?

Visit the Our Team page to meet our team, discover our provider’s specialties and fill out a New Client Inquiry Form. We offer free 20 minute consultations - which you can schedule online or by contacting us. We are more than happy to match you with a clinician that we think will work best for you and your goals.

Your first session:

When you arrive at your first appointment, you can come up to the door at your scheduled appointment time and your clinician will meet you there to let you in for your session. Our buildings remain locked for the safety of our clients and clinicians. You can also text your therapist’s google voice number when you arrive for your appointment. 

Your first session may feel like you are just getting a lot off your chest. You will share relevant information like your family history, major life events, discuss your goals and frequency for sessions going forward.

Where do I park?

Plymouth Office: 260 S Union St, Plymouth, MI 48170 
We have a few designated parking spots in front and behind our building for our clients. There is also abundant parking in the Library Parking Lot behind our building. 

Northville Office: 341 E Main St, Northville, MI 48167
There is limited parking directly behind the Northville office. There is abundant free parking right around the corner at Ford Field Park on Griswold St. There is also street parking directly on Main St.

What door should I use?

Plymouth Office: 260 S Union St, Plymouth, MI 48170 
You can use either the front or back door of the building. The front door is ADA accessible via the side of the building.

Northville Office: 341 E Main St, Northville, MI 48167
You can use either the front or back door of the building. The back door is ADA accessible.

What do I need to bring to the session or wear? I'm not flexible, do I have to do yoga?

You just have to bring yourself! You can wear whatever feels comfortable and authentic for you. 

Some of our clinicians may offer yoga or movement as part of your session, so you may want to wear something that is comfortable to move around in, although it is completely optional (like all of our integrative methods). We want you to feel comfortable and empowered. We do hope that as time goes on, you might feel more at ease and decide to explore how simple yoga poses, art and creativity, mindfulness exercises and meditation can simply elevate your treatment goals.

What are your rates and do you accept insurance?

All of our clinician’s rates are listed on their bio page, which you can access via Our Team. The rates range from $60-$190 for individual 55 minute sessions depending on the provider you work with.

We also offer couples counseling, family consulting, mindfulness coaching and groups at self-pay rates. 

We currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO* insurance for our individual psychotherapy sessions. 

We have chosen to be selective to the insurance providers we work with for your benefit. We believe in providing tailored treatment options, and therefore choose not to be limited by the diagnostic and treatment plan requirements of some insurance companies. By remaining mostly independent, we are able to work with our clients in a more robust and creative capacity, by offering online and at-home services, utilizing integrative methods in-session, and having no limits for how often we see you.

Outside of BCBSM PPO plans, we are an out-of-network provider for psychotherapy. We are happy to support you in getting reimbursement from your insurance companies for our services. Talk to your insurance provider and ask if you have out-of-network benefits for mental health services and, if so, at what percentage you will be reimbursed for each session. You may also have out-of-network benefits that would cover all or a percentage of our fees. Most clients report obtaining 60-100% coverage out-of-network. Give us a call if you would like support in this process. 

*Blue Care Network is out-of-network. Please review your insurance coverage for out-of-network benefits for mental health services. We are also more than happy to discuss our self-pay options with you.

How does billing work? Do I have to check out with reception or billing after my session?

You do not need to check out with anyone after your session. We do require a card be kept on file for all clients. If you are using insurance, following your session our billing department will submit a claim to your insurance. When the claim is processed, our billing department will then charge your card on file. If you are not using insurance, your card will simply be charged following the session.

How do I schedule or reschedule a session? What is your cancellation policy?

Once you schedule your first session during your phone consultation, your clinician will be your point of contact for scheduling. You can text or call their Google voice number to reach them for scheduling or to let the know you’ve arrived for your session. All counseling sessions do require a 48 hour cancellation notice, by email or phone call (cancellation notice by text is not allowed). Failure to give 48 hour notice will result in a fee of the total cost of your session.  

For group experiences, we require a 10 day cancellation in order to receive a refund on your registration.
