I specialize in working with clients experiencing significant life transitions, such as entering college, emerging into adulthood, starting new relationships, becoming parents, and experiencing empty-nesting or changes in relationships. I enjoy working with people with minority and/or immigrant backgrounds, and individuals with Muslim or other spiritual backgrounds, however I enjoy collaborating with all individuals and couples who are ready for change and open to exploring new perspectives in therapy. Whether I am similar to or different from you in my cultural background, religious beliefs, or political leanings, I truly believe in the value and uniqueness of every person and family. I find it fulfilling to support clients in uncovering their strengths, overcoming challenges and finding empowerment and resilience in the alignment of values that are uncovered in therapy.
In therapy, I aim to create a nonjudgmental space where individuals feel comfortable sharing their full spectrum of thoughts and experiences. I help clients understand themselves better, guiding them to recognize their own patterns and discover new ways of navigating life. I incorporate mindfulness techniques, such as deep breathing and sensory exercises, to cultivate accessible moments of calm and build effective coping skills. Therapy is a collaborative process, where I come with knowledge of psychology, relationships, and common effective coping skills, but you remain the expert on your own life. Ultimately, success in therapy is when clients leave feeling lighter, more inspired, and more capable of facing their daily lives with confidence.
