Integrative Perinatal & Postpartum Therapy
It is perfectly okay to not feel like yourself when you are pregnant, a new parent or a parent of new children. As you step into this unfamiliar chapter in your life, it’s important to notice when getting help would be useful. Too often, parents dismiss strong and important feelings as just “part of the experience”. Unfortunately, this causes parents to suffer in silence.
We don’t believe in that. We believe every new parent deserves a space to be heard, supported and taken care of. You are so busy getting ready to or already taking care of everyone else. What about your needs? What about your fears, worries, grief, trauma and sadness? What about your loneliness, isolation, hopelessness and cluttered mind? We work with you to not only validate what you are experiencing but also help you find small ways to thrive amidst this difficult (and yes, beautiful) chapter in you and your family’s lives. If you feel you may be struggling with “normal baby blues”, give it 2 weeks. If your mood still feels unstable after 2 weeks, it may be something more.
You are not alone
1 in 5-7 women and 1 in 10 men experience a mood disorder at the onset of a new baby. It is the most undiagnosed concern related to pregnancy and delivery.
