My ideal client is someone who may need more coping skills and leisure education, typically related to addiction or borderline personality disorder. Together, I can support you in working towards your goals to learn more about yourself, to become your own best advocate, to move toward self-actualization, and to cultivate a greater sense of peace and balance in life. I love working with people who are open-minded and ready to explore themselves and the world around them.
I wish people knew that therapy is not about having a therapist tell you why you are the way you are, and that there is no one right way to go about healing and growth. My approach is grounded in recreation therapy, which includes: mindful movement, restorative yoga, art therapy, play therapy, and more! I offer this because recreation is a pillar of overall well-being and healing happens both in the brain and body. Also, these things make therapy joyful, interactive, and emphasize the client's role in their growth journey. Going forward, I want my clients to know that therapy is a two way street- I can only help you and be the best therapist for you if you communicate with me, are as honest and vulnerable as you feel comfortable to be, and are willing to trust the process!
